EVENING FOREST BATHING
TUESDAY, JUNE 18, 2024 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Connecting with nature has the benefits of reducing anxiety, easing stress and rekindling a sense of wonder. In this meditative experience, modeled on Forest Bathing, we’ll explore the forest at Stanley Park in the magical hours of the evening near the solstice. While in this setting, we’ll spend time with marvelous trees and practice engaging our senses through guided prompts. Slowing down, listening and exploring the intentional connections thriving in nature help to bring us into closer relationship with our surroundings and with ourselves.
What to Expect:
You will meet at the entrance to the Frank Stanley Beveridge Sanctuary across from the Rec Field. Please arrive at least 10 minutes ahead of time and be ready for the walk to start at 5:00. A leisurely walk of about a mile or less with stops along the way where we will engage with the surroundings. We will focus on our senses to develop a connection with the land around us. This is a very relaxed, slow, and mindful way of being in nature. The walk will last about 2 hours and we will finish with an herbal tea made from Todd’s organic herb garden.
$10 donation per person is suggested to participate. Space is limited to 10 participants and registration is required. To reserve your spot email development@stanleypark.org.
