ARToberFEST & Articulture artists & authors!

Greetings ARToberFEST & Articulture artists & authors!

In case you haven’t heard the news, ARToberFEST is back for the 2024 season. Launched back in 2017 as a small art and author show in the old Westfield Town Hall building with 12 participants, the show has grown and evolved over the years into an expansive outdoor art & cultural community experience along Elm Street in downtown Westfield.

ARToberFEST 2023 got rained out and evolved into Downtown Westfield WinterWalk, which we are repeating this year! ARToberFEST is back in 2024 with a much larger footprint and an eager audience – people ask about ARToberFEST all the time!

We want you back in Westfield! Many of you have already responded to our Call for Artists social media posts and Valley Art Newsletter publication. Thank you! To everyone else, please apply! We want you all to come to Westfield. Act quickly - in just under three weeks over 50 artists and authors have applied to participate! Here are some of the call details:

In the heart of the city ~ Downtown Westfield

Future home of the Downtown Westfield Cultural District!

Our annual ARToberFEST outdoor art exhibition, a day long cultural experience in the heart of the downtown Westfield featuring local and regional artists, literature and live music + sidewalk chalk art, kid’s art, community art programming and much more, takes place on Saturday September 28, 2024 from 10am to 4pm in an outdoor, art walk format in a very unique, inviting and thriving urban setting.

Art Along Elm Street!

A production of ArtWorks of Westfield, Art Along Elm Street is part of our ongoing efforts to bring creators and community together in downtown Westfield to engage, inform, inspire, empower, educate, and entertain. New, emerging, experienced, and professional artists & authors are all invited to show and share your talent and creativity with the community. We aspire to provide platforms for gallery artists, fine artisans and authors to share your talent and creativity with the community (of course you can sell your work!), unencumbered by the heavy financial burdens of application fees, participation fees or sales commissions. We want you to thrive here!

We can accommodate up to 100 artists and authors outdoors in the proposed Downtown Westfield Cultural District along the west side of Elm Street from the Westfield Athenaeum heading north along Elm towards Arnold Street and the Westfield Gas & Electric; the Church Street Walkway and the new Elm Street Plaza.

ARToberFEST is a “Corridor of Culture” in a very active and dynamic downtown urban setting. The City of Westfield has submitted an application to the Massachusetts Cultural Council to become the state’s 56th cultural district. It could be official for ARToberFEST!

Accepted Media: painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, collage, photography, printmaking, digital art, fine handcrafted jewelry, functional art, wood, glass, metal, fiber, clay, and ceramics.
