Amelia Park Arena set to host 2nd Annual Spring Classic

Amelia Park Arena is set to host their 2nd Annual Spring Classic Hockey Tournament April 21-23rd. The Spring Classic is an 18+ Tournament that will see twelve teams across two divisions competing for their chance to hoist the “Classic Cup”.  First puck drop on Friday is at 330pm, with games going until 11pm for opening day.

The mission of the weekend is to provide players with a local tournament during the Spring, something that is not prominent in this area. Not only that, but it provides people an opportunity to reunite with former friends and teammates and have some fun on the ice. “After graduating back in 2021, I don’t get to skate with a lot of my former college teammates anymore” said Amelia Park Assistant General Manager Cam Ziomek. “This tournament is an awesome opportunity to get everyone back together and play the sport we love”. After High School and College, many players go their separate ways. The Spring Classic will provide a competitive environment to lace up the skates with your linemates once again.

The weekend is full of top-tier hockey and is an awesome chance for the community to come down to Amelia Park and enjoy the show while supporting our local players. “The talent at the first annual Spring Classic was incredible to see last year” said Amelia Park General Manager Billy Fellows. “I wanted to bring something new to the arena and what was even better than the Hockey, was seeing how much fun the 200+ players were having throughout the weekend”.

The Spring Classic A division this year will feature some of our top local talent. Players from a variety of schools will be hitting the ice including AIC, Westfield State, Worcester State, Merrimack, and Western New England University.

The Tournament schedule will be Friday 330-11pm, Saturday 8am-11pm and playoffs on Sunday 10am-6pm. Entry is free for all spectators. North Elm Butcher Block Food Truck will be on site Friday and Saturday.
