2022 Grammy Winner to Perform at 52 Sumner

Springfield Performing Arts Ventures, Inc. (SPAV) and its newly opened performance venue, 52 Sumner, is hosting its first fundraiser on May 28, 2024. Proceeds from the event will go towards future programming.

SPAV is proud to announce that 2022 GRAMMY-winning guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Christone “Kingfish” Ingram will be performing a full set at the fundraising event. Since bursting onto the scene in 2019, nominated for 10 Blues Music Awards, Ingram has won them all. Rolling Stone has declared, “Kingfish is one of the most exciting young guitarists in years, with a sound that encompasses B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix and Prince.”

SPAV is a non-profit dedicated to bringing affordable access to the arts. Its mission is to ignite the artistic spirit within our urban community, providing a haven for creative expression, cultural enrichment, and personal growth through the arts. SPAV is committed to breaking down barriers, ensuring that everyone, regardless of background, can access, participate in, and be inspired by the arts. Through education, performance, and outreach, it strives to foster a more vibrant, connected, and culturally enriched city, promoting unity and understanding among all our residents.

Christone “Kingfish” Ingram has quickly become the defining blues voice of his generation. From his hometown of Clarksdale, Mississippi to stages around the globe, the young blues star has already headlined multiple U.S. and European tours, and amazed fans in Australia, New Zealand, and India. Selected in summer 2022 to open for The Rolling Stones in London’s Hyde Park, Kingfish has also performed and toured with friends including Vampire Weekend, Jason Isbell, Steve Miller and Buddy Guy, a mentor of his, with whom he appeared on Austin City Limits.
